| The German Sturmpanzerwagen A7V | |
| A photo slide show of the German Sturmpanzerwagen A7V. This is the first German tank built in 1916WWI. It was an enormous tank that was made very quickly without proper tests. This Sturmpanzerwagen A7V had only 40mm(1.57in) of ground clearance. One problem was that the track was way too short for a vehicle of that size in return it was an unstable tank with poor cross country performance. Only 100 were ordered in 1917 but only 20 were produced. They often fell behind the infantry that they were supposed to support. |
